Volunteerism

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” -1 John 3:18

We believe that we are saved by grace through faith and not by our works (Eph. 2:8-9).  We were created by God to do the works that He prepared in advance for us to do (Eph. 2-10).  God has provided us with every helpful resource to prepare us to carry out these works – God’s Word to equip us (2 Tim. 3:16-17), spiritual gifts to empower us (1 Peter 4:10), leaders to coach us (Eph. 4:11-12), the Body of believers to encourage us (Heb. 10:24), and Jesus Christ as our ultimate example (Mark 10:45).

Our hope as a foundation is to support ministries who place a strong emphasis on volunteerism. We believe that meeting physical needs is important, but lasting impact happens when spiritual needs are met. We partner with organizations that foster building Christ-centered relationships with their beneficiaries along with providing services to their community. Investing in relationships fulfills Jesus’s command to not only go and proclaim the Gospel to others, but to make disciples of all nations.

We are looking for Christ-centered ministries that are creating opportunities for volunteers to serve.  We want to connect with these ministries to learn about their needs and the needs of the community.  We ask these ministries to think big.  What kind of projects can they initiate that will create volunteer opportunities and serve the community in the name of Christ?  Which ministries are willing to come together and form a collaborative so that together we can be used for great impact?
